Paul Aalders has been working as a hydrologist and specialist in the field of hydraulic modelling and precipitation drainage modelling since 2004. He has worked at Royal HaskoningDHV since 2008, during which time he has acquired a wealth of experience in setting up extensive and complex hydraulic models, flood protection, area-wide assessments of flooding, water storage and stream restoration. In many of these projects, in addition to his role as a content expert, he also had a coordinating role regarding the substantive activities.
In his role at Royal HaskoningDHV, Paul made an important contribution to the model developments for the Dutch water authorities Dommel, Vechtstromen and Aa en Maas. In these model developments, the flexible building of models from the basic data is the focal point. Paul is an expert in the field of data quality, visualization and structured processing of information into a model.
Paul graduated from Wageningen University as a hydrologist in 2004. After graduation, he worked on the GRADE (Generator of Rainfall and Discharge Extremes) project for the Meuse river basin. Following which he worked for over 3 years as a hydrological advisor for Water authority De Dommel. There he has been involved in various projects in the field of water storage, high water prediction, GGOR Wet Nature Pearls, Keur, stream restoration, fish passages, EVZs and water management. As of May 1, 2008 he is employed by Royal HaskoningDHV.
