Micheline is a creative connector between various fields of delta technology. With her background as an engineering geologist, she is not only active in the cross-over between technical disciplines, but also focuses on the link between technology and people. She concentrates on innovative solutions to help manage flood risks and increase stakeholder participation in urban planning.
During her time as Team Leader Serious Gaming at Deltares, Micheline learned to apply serious gaming techniques in various ways and for various disciplines. An example in the field of Critical Infrastructures networks is the development of the CIrcle-tool in which expert knowledge and experiences are combined to learn about possible cascading effects between networks.
Her latest development at Royal HaskoningDHV in which serious gaming techniques are used is STAIN: a multi-stakeholder tool used to design resilience strategies for cities, and to cross-learn from the solutions and strategies of other cities.
